Since South Wind heaters were often installed years after the car was new, any year heater can be installed.  Choice of model is generally predicated on interior appointments.   They are considered correct period accessories that will not cost you judging points at car shows.

South Wind Type 781-B

Type 781-B is the most popular version.  Introduced in the late 1940’s, it is suitable for most post war cars.

Type 780 is from 1940 and is designed for smaller cars or use in more temperate areas.

Type 781-B - with defroster attachment.  Paper foil or plastic hoses are needed to connect to the defroster nozzles at the windshield.   (Hoses sold separately).
